Instructions

I let the usable portion of the jeans fabric dictate the size the of the purses. These pictured are made of the lower leg of a men's jean. I used bright colored fabrics from my mountain of quilting scraps.

I added applique patterns using fusible backing and then machine applique. For the designs I use simple free clip art. (I can't draw worth a hoot.)

What was your inspiration?

I desire to use the tall stack of old discarded blue jeans and to make inexpensive gifts to give and to sell at bazaar.

What are you most proud of?

The use of recycled materials and found objects in a creative way to make something fun and useful.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

As with any art, sewing, or creative project, have fun.

I have keep the legs of jeans just for this reason but my ideas alway seem to grow bigger then anticipated. Thank you for showing me that taking just one leg at a time adding a little bling they look great.
