I used an old pair of denim jeans, a pair of good sissors, a large sewing needle and transparent nylon thread
What was your inspiration?
My Mom. She asked for a denim bag and I just couldn't resist! She loves it! :)
What are you most proud of?
The fact that this was so very easy and it took less than an hour to make!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This was so easy. I used a pair of old jeans. I cut them to remove the legs, sewed the bottom by hand, all the way accross. I cut the bottom of the pant legs and measured to fit for a liner (as you can see in the photo). I sewed the the two pant legs together for the lining, then i sewed the liner into the bag. I then cut the the reinforced strips from the inseams of the jeans, and used those as straps. I simply cut little slits and tied the ends to hold. that's it! I love this bag! pockets are built in and I added a little pocket in the inside using the same denim (inside out for contrast in color). it's stretchy so it holds the cell phone good. You can also add a button in the middle to keep it closed OR you can sew on some velcro for easy opening/closing. Wallah! :)
