What was your inspiration?
I ended up with a box full of old jeans... the legs were about the same length as the beanbag panels so it seemed the perfect combination. From the remaining denim I made 3 denim rucksacks for kids and more recently I made a wedge shaped cushion with side pockets for remote control storage.
What are you most proud of?
I've had a few proud moments over the years; the patchwork cushion has always been a firm favorite though. Most of it was made from my old fabric scraps - It turned out great though. The fabric pieces were in various styles of faux suede - and of course following the brown color scheme. I covered the cushion base in a brown leatherette with full length zip for easy washing.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Baste the panels together first - and take your time. The side panel should match the top snuggly. Unpicking the stitches on poorly fitted fabric panels is a lengthy and frustrating task. The cushion design was one of my own; it's a pattern I've used often so making a sturdy template has helped create uniformity.
