Instructions

I used steam ( tea pot)- Be careful! :) to open a standard sized envelope- I then traced the pattern on to a page of a comic book, folded and glued together, tied hemp string around a stack of 5. Viola! I tied these on to my Christmas presents with the hemp. Everyone loved them.

What was your inspiration?

I was trying to figure out a way to recycle the comic books I had in a cute crafty way. I've sent tons of letters using these. I just use the self adhesive address labels. I have also gotten great responses from my geeky friends when they get letters from me via snail mail.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would try to re-fold the original envelope to get the idea of where the folds should be. Sometimes you may get a little bit of an uneven envelope, but I think that just adds to the personal effect. :)
