Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Tulips and Berries

Instructions

Just took a Raw Edge Applique' Course at my local quilt shop. The pattern is Tulips and Berries from the book Stitched Raw Edge Applique' by Sue Nickels and Pat Holly. This is one block in a quilt pattern called "Morning Has Broken". I added my own border design of 60 degree triangles to make it into a wall-hanging.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Materials

Cotton quilting fabric and Wonder Under Fusible Web

What was your inspiration?

I had done a couple of other types of applique' - both by hand and machine and just wanted to learn this technique.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient - a lot of the time for this proejct is in the preparation of the applique' pieces. Also, the stitching needs to be done relatively slowly in order to pivot the fabric under the decorative stitching.
