What materials did you use? I used two complementary fabrics - the dark a large pattern batik and the light small dots. I added a couple of contrasting scraps to focus interest.

What are you most proud of? I was surprised at how quickly the piecing went and the process of assembling the blocks to make something with colour flow was fun.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Go for it - you can't make any mistakes here - anything goes.

I really like this quilt, love the colors, especially your border and the little touches of other colors, very nice

Thanks, I had fun doing this one. I intend trying something else that's as "free" as this one was.

This is the finished quilt - I quilted it in the hoop using a design that filled the blocks so that it looks as if it had been done with a long-arm quilter. It took 35 hoopings, but since I don't have a long-arm quilter, this is the only way I can machine-quilt a piece!

I love our arrangement of the colors going from dense to scattered. Very nice.

I prefer some "order" to the disorder. I initially laid out the blocks in a very diffuse order, but the colour density took over as I rearranged them on the floor so that I had a flow from condensed light to condensed dark. The border helped with that once the blocks were sewn together.

Another beauty! I like the composition, too...the way the design extends all the way to the edge. Nice!

That was an intentional part of the design once I had the basic quilt top sewn.

Love how you used the binding to continue the colors on the top.
