Tell us a little more about your inspiration. These are roses that I grow in the wee garden in front of my studio. The name of the rose is Floral Fairytale. There is another painting I did by that name, but this was taken right after I watered.

Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I veered from my usual 140# cold press paper and used 300# cold press Arches. I liked working with it, didn't have to stretch it and I kind of liked the harder edges I got with it. I was also able to lift color quite easily. I used transparent watercolors and splashed a bit of Liquid Paper on it to finish and add to the water sparkles.

Okay, I call it liquid paper, but the proper name is Aquacover by Creative Mark. It is available in five shades of white that perfectly match the most popular watercolor papers used today. It is non yellowing, dries quickly, and once completely dry, can be painted over without bleeding. It's great for restoring the lost white of the paper, or cleaning up edges and because it is the same color as the paper, you never get that chalky gouache look.
