regenboog 1 en 2

Instructions

These are experiments with color, patching and quilting. I used machinequilting in different colors in regenboog 1 and both machine- and handquilting in rgenboog 2. The biasbinding was storebought and very narrow.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual, Cute

Materials

100% cottons in solid colors

What was your inspiration?

Rainbows are full of colors.

What are you most proud of?

That these replace black and white drawings in our little hallway that didn't mean anything to me. When people enter now, they see me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The fun part about the white sashings is that it is very forgiving for blocks that are not quite lining up (see the difference between regenboog 1 and 2). And furthermore, don't make your pieces too small if you are a beginner like me. My strips were cut at 2 inches and i found that very narrow at first. On the other hand, this was a non specific project, no sizing, so it did not matter how big it would end up. Having fun while doing it was way more important.

Very nice and colorful wall hangings. I love the idea of people being able to see you when the see the quilts, and also that it was way more important to have fun than to worry too much over making the project exact or perfect. Thanks for sharing! :-) :-) :-)
