What materials did you use? Hand dyed cotton batiks Lilac cotton print

What are you most proud of? The hand dyed batik color selections. The camera does not do them justice. One color flows into another in a rainbow effect. The 'rows' of french braid begin from the center lilac squares and are 'braided' to the bottom of the rows where they end in a lilac half square.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? This pattern is based on the traditional "Log Cabin" pattern. It is an extremly EASY pattern. The top shown is king size.

Love it, how can I get the pattern ?

Here is a link to a great book with patterns. I took mine off of a quilt at a quilt show, but the ones in this book are very similar. Good luck.

Just found this free pattern on-line, and this is pretty much how i did mine. Especially the part where you assemble the one side with the square and then cut the preassembled strips. Hope this helps. http://quiltbug.com/free/table-topper.htm

http://quiltbug.com/free/table-topper.htm is a good tutoria for the pattern. Here is a link for a good book on 'FRENCH BRAID' quilts

beautiful quilt. I will be taking a class in Aug. My only worry is the color run. How easy is that.

I like to triple wash all of mine prior to ever using for quilting. That way, you are assured the color will not run.

WOW What a pretty quilt. One of these days I will get the time & nerve to do one of these quilts. BB

It is SUCH an easy quilt top. Goes together REALLY FAST! All it is is a modified Log Cabin. If you want to try a smaller version to see if you like it, go to this link and make a table topper.
