Crocheting: Rainbow Trivet
15 kudoz

Rainbow Trivet

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky, Whimsical, Mod

Materials

T-shirt yarn!

What was your inspiration?

I'm making a rug (long-term) from t-shirt yarn... and there are little fiddly bits of the t-shirt that don't make nice yarn.
I wanted to put them to use... so the back of this trivet doesn't look to great!

What are you most proud of?

The colors!!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sourcing the shirts is the hardest part... my goodwill isn't very inexpensive, so I'm getting shirts slowly :)

I would like the pattern for this... I love it... Do you have a pattern on here or somewhere else that I might get it? I would appreciate it very much...

The trivet is just a circle... check out my free download for the pattern for crocheting a circle: http://www.freshstitches.com/crochet-roundsgranny-square-patter-free-tutorial-download/

you could ask them for the throw-aways (holey, etc.)

How wide do you cut the t-shirt material? What size needle do you use? Sorry but I would really like to try making these..... <3

I cut the t-shirt yarn to the widths of 2 fingers and used a size P hook
