What are you most proud of? The big pops of color are cool, and I am really getting the hang of this Free Motion Quilting business. That is a lot coming from me, because I was terrified of FMQ, yet I find I like it more and more the more I use it to finish off my projects. Not yet perfect in any way, but sooo much better than when I first tried to FMQ

What advice would you give someone starting this project? My blocks are big, so bright colors against a solid background are going to work best, I think. Only other advice, as always and always, is just have fun and enjoy what you do. This actually came together fairly quickly for me since I managed to cut bigger pieces of fabric, so I used less blocks.

Hey Dude (I couldn't resist). This is a great rendition of The Flag. Excellent color selections. Are these pieced or appliqued? The photo doesn't provide a very good image of the FMQ. I am like you - I have found that FMQ grows on you the more projects you do. This is my second best liked of the projects that you have uploaded. Great Work!

Hello DKelley! Not sure why I didn't see this post earlier, it says you wrote it in May? Sorry about the delayed reply. Thanks for the kind words. This quilt is pieced - I'm not a big fan of applique', I just can't get into it. You're right, these pics are not the best because I have a crappy camera, so again, sorry for the poor photo quality. Anywho, thanks for checking out my stuff, and I'm glad you like it! - Jose

Hello! Thanks for your kind words. This was a free pattern from Moda Bake Shop, several years ago. I honestly don't remembercthe name of the pattern though.

Hah! SOOO to answer your question [again] ... the name of the pattern is "Mind the Gap", and it was up top in the description. It was a free pattern. Hope it's still on the website, this quilt was done SEVERAL years ago Good luck!

Love your quilt! Searched for the pattern & couldn't find it at link provided in your description. I found the link and have pasted it here:http://www.unitednotions.com/fp_bellas-mind-the-gap.pdf Hope this works for others interested in the pattern.

The link I previously provided was actually at the Moda Cutting Table. It also is not a hyperlink, so you'll have to copy and paste into your address bar. The Moda Cutting Table has a whole page of free patterns. Here is the address for the free pattern page: http://blog.modafabrics.com/funfree/free-patterns/
