Materials
I used a rainbow printed cotton fabric and embellished with multicolored threads and cords. I used hand dyed shaded perle cotton for the hand stitching. What fun to create all these stitches! I used needlepunch for the batting for rows of quilting lines between the pretty stitches which really made them pop. The corded edge panels are glued to 8 x 10 black canvas covered frames.
What was your inspiration?
I signed up for the Craftsy class with Carol Waugh. I watched The Quilt Show featuring Carol and her Stupendous Stitching. I purchased the book, and thread featured for the project. I love this technique and can't wait to create several more!
What are you most proud of?
I love the vibrant colors and the pair together look so alive and interesting. The design draws you in to view close up to appreciate every detail.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go wild with it and have fun creating!
