Materials

A variety of yarns, hand-dyed for the project. A skein of a primary yarn, a nice skein of hand-painted yarn, and 4 complimentary colors of scrap yarn would also work. Circular needle. Stitch markers. Darning needle. Crochet hook, same size as the knitting needle.

I love this design. It's great for using up leftover yarn. And the collar stands up on it's own, which helps keep the back of your neck warm, while allowing 'venting' in the front. I need the warm neck, mine's damaged. I also need the venting during hot flashes. I jokingly call this my menopause collar. But younger women can wear it, too. I promise.
