Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Butterfly cutters, plaque cutter, embossing mat, fondant, 6 inch and 8 inch round cakes, and loads of food colouring!

What are you most proud of? I think the zig zags worked pretty well. I used Jessica Harris' wax paper technique. I was only asked to include the zig zags the night before, and I don't have access to a printer outside of work, so I traced around a scrapbooking zig zag paper tearing thing and had to manually space them out etc. A bit more fiddly than I would have liked, and doing it this way meant there was a very obvious gap/seam which had to be hidden (hence the plaque). I wish I had been able to convince her that having both the zig zags and the butterflies was a bit too much, but she really wanted to keep both.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Set aside a bit more time than you think you will need!
