What materials did you use? Cotton Fabric

What are you most proud of? I like the color combination, and most [not all] of the points aligned perfectly. I also feel my quilting works well. I was able to sew straight lines that matched up with the points almost perfectly - not an easy thing to do for me!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just choose your favorite colors, and cut and sew carefully so all the points line up. Have patience and perseverence. I had to rip seams a few times to get the points and edges to line up and still had a few that were beyond repair due to small seam allowances. Grrrr!!! I repeat, cut carefully, and sew carefully.

Love Bear Paw quilts, and this one is no exception. Such fun colors and fabrics, and thoughtful placement. Super-sizing it makes it even more striking. Your quilting complements the design and doesn't distract. Nice!

I'm starting my first Rainbow Bear Paws quilt. What are the size of your colored squares and the size of the solid part of the paw? thanks June

Hi, June! For my "paws" [if I remember correctly], they measured a total of 12 inches square. The big colored square finished at 8 inches, and each little "toe" is a 4-inch Half Square Triangle. The white sashing finished at 4 inches wide, and the black cornerstones are 4 inch squares. Very basic. And just a reminder, these are the sizes without seam allowance, so make sure to add the seam allowance [I use 3/8" seam allowance instead of the standard 1/4" - it just makes me feel more secure about my piecing. hahaha] Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions, I'd love to help. And, please post your project when you are done, I'd love to see your version! - Jose
