Pattern Info

Rag quilt (just google it)

Instructions

Cut 8" squares out of flannel
Fabric wrong sides together and sew diagonal cross in squares then arrange squares however you want them....
Sew your rows of squares together with 1" seam allowance (for snipping later) wrong sides together so the seam is sticking up on the top....
Then snip into seam every 1/4 inch at least so you get a good fringe....

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Pets

Style: Cute

What was your inspiration?

A friend at work made one.... Jenny Doan does one as well at Missouri Star Quilting Company

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Really easy and doesn't take long to do. You need to wash it for the fringe to look cool, but put it inside a doona cover or something the first few times to save your lint filter

Hi Maggiesc I used three layers of flannel, that way you get lots of "fraying" colourways if you want, like put another colour inside and it shows through...

Great quilt, so did you use 3 layers of flannel, or 2 regular cotton with flannel sandwiched inside
