Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quilting Quickly II: Patterns, Techniques & Tips »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Pets

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Denim, flannel, quilting cotton (red squares with applique) Double Stick Fusible Web.

What was your inspiration?

I took the Quilting Quickly II course and wanted to try this quilt...I am making it small for my Pomeranian Charlie. It still has to be sewn together...I'll take my time and watch that section of the course so I hopefully won't make any mistakes putting it together. I will be making another one for my Bichon Frise Lacey. Thanks so much to Jenny Doan the course instructor...she is a great teacher...a "Quilting Goddess"

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the appliques I made... They were a lot of work but I'm very happy how they turned out! It is a new technique for me...but I really like how it looks!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Even though I still have to sew the little 4 1/2 " squares together, I can review the course as many times as I want ...that is a great help when you are learning a new hobby/craft! I forgot to mention under the list of materials that I used ...I chose a denim needle for my sewing machine & I used denim thread...it worked out well, and I had no problems going through all the thick layers!
