Great project. I am going to start this tonight if I can find the right size hook.

Now that I don't paint anymore and the need for 'drop clothes' is gone...that was in my younger years, I have several sheets to use for this project that don't fit our new mattresses. Just imagining the cost to buy a basket like this is great incentive. Sooo, Birka, I just need to live long enough to finish all of the amazing projects I find on Craftsy...including yours.

Ah, but this one is really quick - at least once the sheets have been cut up! Happy making!!

Just added another photo of how I started this basked and realised I used 15mm hook (not 10 as I first wrote) so I've corrected myself! :)

May I ask what pattern you used for the basket? I absolutely love it!

I didn't have a pettern as sunch. I just made a flat circle using single crochet (US)/ double crochet (UK) until it was big enough and then stopped increasing and crocheted up the sides. The handles are made by just making a chain to desired length and skipping a few stiches before joining the row again (twice of course) and finishing with another round of stiches. Hope that all makes sense :)

I nlove this idea. I never would have thought to use either sheets or bed skirts :) I can't wait to go to the thrift store and get the sheets. What a perfect basket for my son's room.
