What materials did you use? Riley Blake fabric Aurifil thread

What are you most proud of? That I started. I've avoided this pattern for years, even bought fabric for it several times. This time I cleaned and rearranged my sewing room and changed my rotary blade before cutting those strips. Actually not that hard, its all in my head!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Measure 5 times cut once. Sew slowly. Don't be discouraged if its not perfect.

Beautiful fabrics! Gorgeous star!! How did you achieve the 9 diamond segments? Did you use strips of 3 fabrics? Are they the same size the Lonestar or bigger? Thanks much!!

I used jelly roll strips but made strip sets of 3 instead of 2. I worried that there was a value difference between the yellows and blues I used in the second tiers, but I like the end result. I think there is almost a feather effect. I'm waiting for my navy blue fabric to arrive to do my setting squares

Ooo! Navy will really set this off! Can't wait to see it finished :-)
