Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Machine Quilting: Free-Motion & More »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Toy

For: Children

Style: Cute

Materials

This is a fabric printed with cars, roads, and scenes. I used warm and Natural batting and did free motion using monfilament in both the top and bobbin thread.

What was your inspiration?

My 3 year old granddaughter loved to play with oone of these at a quilt shop. I decided it would be a great Christmas gift, along with cars and trucks to go with it.

What are you most proud of?

1.) That I finished it!
2.) I have never done a free motion before; and while it isn't perfect, it is pretty darn good.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's fun but can't be done in a hurry.

This is a fun way to practice machine quilting stitches and a particular child sure will have fun with the finished roadway... thanks for sharing!
