Instructions

If you have a zipper foot you can do what I do in the video. Otherwise, see if you have the option to move adjust your needle position to the left on your sewing machine and you will be able to sew the zipper with a basic universal presser foot as well. Happy sewing!

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Classic, Casual, Cute

Materials

cotton fabric, cotton batting, zipper, thread, lapel stick/fabric glue,

What was your inspiration?

Many of my viewers asked for a tutorial that shows how to sew in a zipper.

What are you most proud of?

The great feedback I'm receiving from my viewers. :o)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Check your sewing machine supplies to see if you have a zipper foot. If you do, check out your user manual and learn how to put it on and use it. Then just practice, practice, practice! This is a great beginner project... you can do it!

I just watched the cosmetic bag tutorial and I am excited. I make all kinds of things and sell them but it has stumped me how to get my zipper in right to lay the way this does. I am sad I am off to work because I just can't wait to try this method to see it it will work for me. I have tried them all but no one has said the part about how to lay the zipper teeth so it will lay the way I want. Can't wait!!!

I've been following you for a while now on YouTube, and making baby pants continues to be my favorite. I am so happy to see you here! I'm a novice, and you make sewing so non-threatening. I'm planning on tackling the cosmetic bag today.

I made several of these for a bride-to-be to give to her bridesmaids and one for the Mother of the Groom, and her sister (Mother of the Bride has passed on to see Jesus). Then made a bigger one for the Bride-to-be with ribbon "tassles" of the colors of the wedding in a Breast Cancer Survivor pink in honor of the Bride-to-be's Mother!!! Also a bigger one for me with colors of the dress I am wearing to the wedding, what fun!!!

It was ok, a little too fast for a beginer.she says it is for beginers, but I think a beginer would have a hard time keeping up with her. It is something I am going to make for christmas presents. looks like something the grandkids and relatives would like to receive. So thanks for your tutorial on this neet bag.
