What are you most proud of? I'm proud I was able to design and quilt this in less than 1 month! It was quite a challenge to get everything done in time, but in the end I was glad I had the time constraints. Had I had more time, I might have gotten a lot more nit-picky and spent a lot of time ripping out minor mistakes. In the end, this project made me accept my mistakes as learning opportunities rather than something to be ashamed of.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Practice, make it fun, and don't sweat the small stuff. This is not something to nit-pick with a magnifying glass! Have you ever seen someone admire a tote bag and then point out all the minor flaws? No! Just turn on some good music that makes you want to dance, start quilting, and try to find the rhythm and flow to free motion quilting. It's a fluid task and relaxing into it is really the key to enjoying the process.

great idea, why can't quilting be on something besides a Quilt. Thanks Leah

I love this. Not sure I am up to the challenge of such beautiful work myself but truly admire your dedication, skill and willingness to share yourself we the craftsy community

The nice thing about this project is this - if you really mess up, you're only out about 16 inches of fabric! Cut some more strips, make another panel and try again! It's just fabric, thread, and batting after all.

That is a really cute bag, I like that it can hold a quilt. Our quilting club does "sew and tell" and this would be perfect for bringing in finished quilts it quilt tops.
