What materials did you use? Cotton fabrics, cotton and polyester machine threads, zipper, fusible fleece or wonder under plus batting plus fusible interfacing

What are you most proud of? The color combinations and finding a good use for fabric that's been hanging around for 20 years! Plus I practiced fussy cutting a bit for the piecing and really liked the effect.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Find a fabric that has several colors in it, then coordinate fabrics that go with those colors to make the pieced square. Color coordinate the lining, quilting threads and zipper. To get the fancy machine stitching to meet evenly at the point of the chevron, start there and sew to the end, then reverse the stitch on the machine, begin exactly at the first stitch of the previous stitching and sew in the opposite direction.

What size zipper is used for this bag?

02/22/2012 Flag

The size zipper is determined by the length of the top. For this bag, any zipper longer than 16 inches will work.

Fabulous, love your color choice for the liner and zipper.

Thank you. Design-wise, I try to get the liner and zipper to match in coordination with a color in the pieced bag.
