Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
mini dresden plate »

Instructions

I used the free dresden plate pattern to make the cute block for the front of my journal cover!

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Women

Style: Eco-Friendly, Cute, Traditional

Materials

fabric, thread, batting, composition notebook

What was your inspiration?

The picture for the pattern - when I saw that cute block I knew it would be perfect as a journal cover

What are you most proud of?

I did the hand stitching with embroidery floss - a little harder to work with than perle cotton, but I had the colors I wanted to use.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just be accurate in your cutting and sewing, press as you go. It comes out so cute! A 2 inch circle works perfectly for the center (add seam allowance to it, though!)

I assume the Mini Dresden is hand stitched down?

Yes, I hand stitched it down. I would really like to try one with machine button hole stitching, though - I think it would be really cute and fast!

Oh thank you so much! I really have tried to work on my photography skills, but the limited light here doesn't help! Your comment made my day for sure, thanks so much!
