What materials did you use? Seven pieces of fabric cut in strips 12" long and 1" to 2" wide * Fabric for inside, about 13" by 8" and soft batting of same size* Fabric for binding *Basic quilting supplies.

What are you most proud of? I posted a similar piece some time ago and have had many requests for a pattern. So I borrowed back the other one and made this one writing down directions. I could not post the full directions as a pattern on Craftsy without a PayPal account so I will put the short version below. Am happy so many people liked the first one and hope this helps!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Here are short directions: 1. Sew strips together using a inch seam, press seams to darkest fabric 2. This top should be approximately 12 x 7 inches. 3. Quilt using light batting and coordinating fabric on back 4. Check size with phone and add or trim width and length accordingly then add binding. 5. Place right side down and fold up from the bottom using phone as guide for pocket size and sew sides to secure pouch. 6. Fold down top, mark for Velcro and machine stitch top Velcro strip and hand stitch bottom one.

You are on the right page. Just look above in the box that is headed, "What advice do you...." and the directions are in that box, numbered.

Is there a free pattern for this? If so where do I find it?

The general directions on how to make this are above in one of the boxes. I posted them after receiving so many requests for a pattern. Hope they help!

I made this project for my daughter and added a little chapstick pocket on the outside as she requested. This turned out so beautiful and it was my very first quilting project. I will make another one for myself and then make a mug rug to practice quilting skills. I want to make a quilt for my daughter in the Spring for her birthday. Thanks. Marie!

Hi! So glad it worked for you and what a great idea to add the extra pocket! This is how I started, too... small projects and then built up to a quilt. Good luck!!
