Fabric scraps for top and bottom pieces, batting, lining fabric, printer, InkJet Printing Cotton, 9" zippers, basic quilting supplies and sewing machine.
What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was the art I had purchased for a friend long ago and wanting to incorporate it into a 9" purse for her birthday.
What are you most proud of?
I have gotten better at putting in the zippers and lining - practices does help!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Plan out your piece so that it is the correct size.
I would have darkened the lettering of my friend's name with my software if I had known it was going to print out as light as it did. I tried to darken one copy with a sharpie but the ink bled so I decided to just use the lighter version. Which reminds me... always print out more than one copy of the image you need, and try to think of other things you can print at the same time because the inkjet cloth paper is not cheap!! I printed some other images I hope to use another time.
