Quilt Towels

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:

Instructions

May have to buy this back issue of the magazine.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Unisex

Style: Casual, Mod

Materials

Used inexpensive fabrics just to try this out. Cotton for the top, terrycloth for the backing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I had major problems FMQ with the terrycloth backing. I would suggest researching it first if you want to FMQ. I finally gave up and used the walking foot.

Great idea, making a personalized towel for your children, and really nice machine binding! I try to machine bind, but mine hardly looks as nice as yours. I love the color combos as well. Your children have an eye for color!

Thanks a lot! That was my first machine binding. There was no way I was going to hand stitch all those towels. The first one was a learning curve, then I learned the tricks!! :)

By the way.... there are 3 different "towels" in the picture. The kids picked out their own colors :)

Very nice! I really like that stitch for attaching the binding, it's a good idea. I've made my g-kids hooded towels. I think I'll use your idea and make them a beach blanket
