What are you most proud of? The speed this came together was amazing. I stitched out the embroidery on Monday night and finished the sewing, quilting and binding on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning I had a mug rug to take to work and use.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Mug rugs are great little projects to try a technique or use up some scraps. Great to focus on a specific design or focus fabric. They make great gifts, too!

I didn't use a pattern for this project. When I make mug rugs, I just cut a piece of fabric to put my embroidery on, cut the fabric bigger than the finished piece, embroider, layer with my backing and batting, quilt. Trim to size, my mug rugs are usually about 8" by 10", and bind. Simple and quick.

Urban Threads has fabric you can purchase through Spoonflower. If you go to their site they have a link to their Spoonflower shop. Thank you for commenting on my mug rug.
