What materials did you use? Cotton

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I pieced and quilted this quilt on my home sewing machine. Most of the quilting is done with a walking foot and stitching in the ditch which is fairly easy for a beginner quilter. I also did a little meandering/stippling in some of the blocks. Just enough to test the waters of free motion quilting. I am hooked!

I would like to make quilts for Quilt of Valor but wasn't sure they were still a viable organization. Do they still accept quilts?

Yes, the Quilt of Valor Foundation is going strong. You can check out their website at www.qovf.org for more information!

This is going right to the top of my quilting bucket list. I am a navy brat and I can not tell you how much it means to see military members honored with these beautiful quilts.
