What was your inspiration?
I wanted to honor a special military person with a Quilt of Valor. I found this pattern in Fons and Porter's Quilting Magazine and fell in love with it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I pieced and quilted this quilt on my home sewing machine. Most of the quilting is done with a walking foot and stitching in the ditch which is fairly easy for a beginner quilter. I also did a little meandering/stippling in some of the blocks. Just enough to test the waters of free motion quilting. I am hooked!
