What was your inspiration?

On a whim, I bought a pack of 7" batik squares at my local quilt shop. After checking my fabric stash, I decided the black and dark teal fabrics worked well for the sashing. Then I went back to the quilt shop to find the border fabric.

What are you most proud of?

This quilt wasn't originally made for my daughter, but she loved it so much, I had to give it to her when it was done.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If a set of charm squares, a package of fat quarters, a jelly roll, or other fabric "speaks" to you, BUY IT, even if you don't know what you'll do with it. Inspiration will come in it's own time.
