What was your inspiration?

I live in a rural community and hadn't yet found a way to join a charitable quilting organization. A friend told me about Quilts for Kids (located in my own state!)

I kept the quilting simple diagonal lines in the main section and straight grid lines in the border. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

What are you most proud of?

I'm proud of taking out some time to give a little comfort and a snuggle to a child who needs it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sign up today! You have at least a month to return your kit - it couldn't be any easier to give a child a lovely gift.

I am a chapter leader in Round Rock, Texas. Our chapter with the help of other QFK chapters across the U.S. are giving quilts to children in Bastrop, Texas whose homes were burned by the largest wild fire recorded in many years. Approximately 1900 homes and 5,000 people are homeless, 50,000 acres of land was destroyed by a fire that burned for almost 3 weeks before it was contained.
