What materials did you use? Ava selected the colors and I chose 100% cotton fabric and low loft batting. My challenge (one of many!) was to make the end of the bolt contrasting fabric go far enough. Since I decided I wanted the quilt larger it was another challenge to figure the right amount of fabric for the entire quilt. I did this with "crackers and stitched around the design to add the backing strips.

What are you most proud of? That I got it done for her 13th birthday! And that I was able to adapt the layout when I ran short on contrasting fabric.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I would suggest watching the entire video and then rewatching each segment as you are working.

Ava will love it! It's a beautiful quilt.

Beautiful. Looks like a beaded curtain. Perfect for a 13 year old. I am sure it will be loved.

thank you! actually she had a beaded curtain that she used to show me the colors she liked, I had never thought of how the design looked like one but you are right!

I like the way you adapted to fit what you had. Fantastic!

I was wondering how to enlarge the size of the finished piece. Thanks for the inspiration.
