Butterflies are very difficult to quill (at least for me). I think this is gorgeous and quite realistic. Great job!

This particular project has no kit, but there are several quilling tutorials on my site, http://www.suzyssitcom.com. Supplies are extremely inexpensive!

I think this is a great project!! I teach first grade religion classes and I think with a little help it would be a lovely project to teach about God's beautiful creations!

I used half a styrofoam ball in the bottom of the jar and covered it with moss. The tutorial gives more details.

I have doing quilling quite awhile. I am so glad it is coming back in style. I get inspired by seeing others work. Yours is beautiful. I know how much work goes into it, You are so right about needing the proper tools and the cost really isn't bad considering what other crafts can cost. The end product is soworth it.
