Practice using your scrap yardage first. Use a quilter's chalk to draw the lines. Quilter's water-erasable ink can get set and brown by ironing and must be removed with water before ironing the quilt block open. If you use chalk or pencil, your fabric will always be safe.Difficulty:

I used layer cakes in the tutorial so I didn't have to cut 10 inch squares. Note, you can get four 10-inch squares from 1/3 yard of fabric and create your own layer cake.
