What was your inspiration?
Just wanted to try something quirky that would fit all ages. The tassel looks cute on the little ones, but I prefer to leave that off for adults.
What are you most proud of?
I like the combination of stitches so that it is not so basic, yet it is still an easy project.
This easy knitted cable stitch hat fits infants as early as six months old and stretches to fit adults as a cute little beanie with the brim rolled down. Two different directions are given for finishing the crown one for an I-cord with tassel and one without. This stretchy little hat is knit entirely on circular needles (double-pointed needles may be substituted). It can be created in just a few hours!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Stitches used in addition to stockinette include a cable stitch and an I-cord for the tassel.
