Quick Baby Blankets

Instructions

This is made from a free pattern I found on the internet. The owner stipulates the pattern is not to be posted anywhere on the net without permission. So I am honoring that requirement by not providing the name of the pattern, nor listing a link.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Traditional, Casual, Cute

Materials

Sport weight and chunky yarn. Crochet hook to match weight of yarn.

What was your inspiration?

I was researching different crochet stitches on the net and came across this pattern. The blanket forms its own edging as you stitch and is very adaptable. You can use many types of yarn and change the size based on how many multiples of the basic stitch are used. It stitches up quickly to boot.

What are you most proud of?

The finished blanket can be used with a receiving blanket for extra warmth or as is to breathe the surrounding air while still keeping baby warm.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Enjoy the process! This is a fun blanket to crochet.

Hi- Normally the pattern would be listed at the top of the project. If you note my Instructions you'll see the owner of this pattern specifically stipulates the pattern is not to be listed anywhere on the internet without their permission. That said its a free pattern I found when I googled free crochet baby blanket patterns and didn't take much looking. It was included in a whole list of free baby blanket patterns. The permission issue is similar to a copyright. Hope you find it!

Jean, this is beautiful - are my eyes correct in that the wool is a variegated baby's wool - what a lovely gift for a new bub.

Yes, its a variegated washable wool blend. I made one for my sister's new grandson. My niece was thrilled. With a light blanket inside or underneath its extra warm. As it the blanket breathes but keeps bub from getting chilly.

Thanks Nana! - I like your work. Years ago I taught myself to crochet - tried knitting but didn't click with it. I'd always heard most can do one but not the other. You're good at both! I heard of a different way to hold yarn when knitting that is easier for crocheters. I'm going to have to hunt that down as I really like some patterns that are knit only. BTW- I'm "Nana" to my only grandson - music to my ears!
