What materials did you use? Sport weight and chunky yarn. Crochet hook to match weight of yarn.

What are you most proud of? The finished blanket can be used with a receiving blanket for extra warmth or as is to breathe the surrounding air while still keeping baby warm.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Enjoy the process! This is a fun blanket to crochet.

Thanks Nana! - I like your work. Years ago I taught myself to crochet - tried knitting but didn't click with it. I'd always heard most can do one but not the other. You're good at both! I heard of a different way to hold yarn when knitting that is easier for crocheters. I'm going to have to hunt that down as I really like some patterns that are knit only. BTW- I'm "Nana" to my only grandson - music to my ears!

Jean, this is beautiful - are my eyes correct in that the wool is a variegated baby's wool - what a lovely gift for a new bub.

Yes, its a variegated washable wool blend. I made one for my sister's new grandson. My niece was thrilled. With a light blanket inside or underneath its extra warm. As it the blanket breathes but keeps bub from getting chilly.

Should have typed "as is" the blanket breathes...

Argh- And THANKS Beth. I've got to slow down my "enter" key!

Jean, always love seeing what others do for the bubs in their families - I bet your niece was thrilled with this beautiful blanket.

HI, I'm new to craftsy, how do I find the instructions for this blanket?

05/26/2013 Flag

Hi- Normally the pattern would be listed at the top of the project. If you note my Instructions you'll see the owner of this pattern specifically stipulates the pattern is not to be listed anywhere on the internet without their permission. That said its a free pattern I found when I googled free crochet baby blanket patterns and didn't take much looking. It was included in a whole list of free baby blanket patterns. The permission issue is similar to a copyright. Hope you find it!

PS- The pattern is quite old and I"m not sure if I could locate the owner to get permission.
