What was your inspiration?
This was the very first piece of beaded jewlery that I made. My wonderful mother in law was visiting over the summer and decided to teach me this new hobby of hers. I quickly picked it up and became what you might say obsessed with beading. I have since learned many new patterns and even designed some of my own. I am now teaching these new patterns to my mother in law. Since she lives abroad, we usually bead together for sometimes hours on facetime! It's a lot of fun and feels like she's sitting in the kitchen next to me, except that I can't share my brownie and coffee with her :)
What are you most proud of?
The fact that this unique piece of jewelry has over 2,500 tiny seed beads and that it was actually on exhibit at the Sonoma County Museum of Art.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If this is your first project, I would advise that you choose beads that are not very close in color because as a biginner, it was sometimes hard for me to tell which bead came next and where to thread the needle because my beads were close in color. Also, I recommend the Tulip beading needle. It lasts a long time and is easy to thread.
