The Art of Metal Clay by Sherri Haab »
InstructionsI found the instructions for creating a stone set in a silver clay pendant in a really good book about metal clay. Well worth a read for beginners. I just followed the basic frame work for the pendant, then altered the detailing for my own piece. The is The Art of Metal Clay by Sherri Haab. The chapter that these instructions can be found in is called Making Bezels for Delicate Stones.

This necklace features a beautifully multi hue green quartz druzy that has a lovely sparkle to its crystallized surface. Its set in a hand sculpted setting of fine silver. It was then given a patina in tones of blue, green and purple to give it a more antique look, then gently hand polished. The pendant is accompanied by mossy green nephrite jade and peridot, complimenting the green in the druzy wonderfully. All other metal components are sterling silver. Is this your project?
