Instructions

I took a class with Heleen van Textielatelier De Vlotte Naald in Nijmegen, the Netherlands to learn this very geometric pattern of scraps put together with small solid strips. The endresult is a small purse.(6 " by 8" )

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Classic, Cute, Geeky

Materials

Quilting cotton

What was your inspiration?

Blue is my favorite color, my kids chose the red and I love the effect.

What are you most proud of?

It had to be put together very precise. It had 5 mm seams, no more, no less. It worked. Because of the small scale it was quite fast and easy to machinequilt in the ditch, also a new trick for me.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take a class with Heleen. She is really nice and good at adapting to any skilllevel. There were 3 of us that afternoon and very different in skill and approach and it worked out fabulously.
