What was your inspiration?

I've taken part in lots of traditional Christmas pantomimes over the years and I love pantomime characters. I found the pattern for Puss in Boots in one of Jean Greenhowe's books and couldn't resist making him.

What are you most proud of?

The curly knitted feathers in his hat.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's very easy and doesn't take long. Jean Greenhowe's patterns are 100% accurate and if you follow the instructions carefully you can't go wrong. Choose really bright colours and stuff very firmly so that he's nice and solid.

Thank you so much! The projects have been done over a very long period - some of the knitting is several years old and I don't think I've done any embroidery for at least 10 years, so not as busy as it might seem!

He's only quite small - not like the clowns - but I think he's a little cutey too! These toys are a joy to make.
