like to turn "trash" int treasure

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

be patient - the fatter the book, the more the purse will hold. Several coats of verathane on book cover helps protect it.

I will work on instructions... I have made lots of them now, and worked out all the kinks. Be prepared to spend a little time - but very rewarding in the end.

My kids and I make envelopes and journals from old books. we would love some tips on how to make purses. I am thinking more of making them for the little girl world :) Julia

I made one of these out of a classic book for my 11 year old daughter and didn't cover the printed cover just made the inside and handles. The main problem is that it doesn't hold much like you said. I would suggest a large spine book for sure like the old readers digest books that have 3 stories in them.

I saw Reader's Digest books made into purses at an art gallery in Boston some yrs ago-really nice!
