What are you most proud of? It was fun to say thank you for many hours of pleasant reading.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? be very patient. Making book purses is tedious...but worth the effort

This is such a great idea! 2 of my favorite things: books and purses! Love it!

Me too! The fatter the book, the better it turns out.

I can't believe how good this looks. What a wonderful imaginative idea.

Thank you. My first one didn't turn out so good, but after several, I got better...Takes lots of patience.

This is a great idea! Do you ever cover the outside of the book with fabric, or do you always leave it as the original book? I have to do some gifts for a swap coming up and thought this would be something unexpected I could do...Thanks for posting!!! I love Sue Grafton, too!

No, I have not covered the face of the book, or the spine. I have always wanted to retain the "book look." If you google, how to make a purse from a book, you might get some instructions, but you can tweek them any way you want. If you decide to do it, I will write my instructions for you.
