I wanted to use 26 or 28g wire for small beads wire wrapped above the large rectangle bead. I did not have headpins that small so I experimented with putting a knot in the wire as one. I cut my wire long enough to loop it, hold it, and steady pull it with one hand then held the other with chain nose pliers. I put the knot as close to the end of the wire to conserve it for other uses. I found that if I used round nose pliers it broke the wire. If I needed the knot bigger, I left a small enough hole in it to feed the wire back through 1-3 times, then gently shape with chain nose pliers if needed. I was then able to put more small dangled beads on top of the big rectangle bead. I used 22g wire for a large circled loops on the face of the rectangle bead, I held it with nylon jaw pliers to keep from marring it, then made it to fit rectangle bead, bent the end down and back through the rectangle bead and wire-wrapped the top with this 22g wire. I tried my best to make a small square on the end of the ear wire-it is hard to bend the corners at a sharp angle-any suggestions here would be appreciated. The wire squares are made on the plastic mandrels that Aga showed in her class, and they are done as she demonstrated for the bead circle earrings. Her gift of teaching has inspired me to create these as well as a trial at triangle earrings that I posted a picture of here as a variation to the circle wires. Again I experimented with headpins and used a small silver toho bead at the end of the crystal bead on the triangle earrings. I folded 5-7 mm of it up into the beads above it-using the tip of chain nose pliers and lots of patience!! 26 or 28 g wire for the squares, 22g wire for the earwires and the circular deco work on purple rectangle beads, rectangle (or square) beads for bottom focus, small 4-5mm rondelle or round crystals, seed beads, 6mm bicone crystals.
What was your inspiration?
Aga's class and not having small enough headpins so I experimented with ideas.
