Thank you for your recent help in regards to making a ruffled cake with your ruffle fondant technique. I was the one who asked you about applying the ruffles to a cake frosted with buttercream instead of fondant. I took your advice and used a stiffer icing (less butter) and made sure each and every ruffle was super thin so they wouldn't be heavy (except for the bottom ones resting on the cake board and tops of each tier). I took my time and sort of waited for the ruffles to "semi dry" so they would be a support for those being piled on top. Also, I cut the circles in half at times so the ruffle would be "lighter".
