What was your inspiration?
A firend was making this in another color and I thought the blocks were so pretty. I had just bought a new sewing/embroidery machine that had large hoops so I thought I would make my own.
What are you most proud of?
I was able to use my software to enlarge and embellish the blocks to my taste. I added machine trapunto, stippling and other decorative stitches without having to pick up a needle and thread! The only hand sewing is on the quilt label.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The basic blocks are beautiful on their own. I love to put "myself" into all my projects so my skills grow with each one. If you like machine embroidery, try upping the ante a little!
