Instructions
I took a basic tank top slip pattern and used a knit fabric for the top. For the skirt, I just gathered up some very shear fabric and sewed it to the bottom. I used another shear fabric to line the skirt, of which I gathered. There is a ruffle of tulle with sparkles that the model told me she was "old enough" to wear now.

Knit fabric for the top, shear floral and shear cream for lining skirt.
What was your inspiration?
My model. She has wanted me to use that tulle with the glitter on a dress for a while. She asked if I could make her a dress with that on it and I had to come up with a way to use it so that it wouldn't actually touch her because it is so scratchy.
I had found the purple floral knit of which there wasn't much of and her favorite color. Found the floral shear that my brother bought for me at a garage sale. So I put them all together and came up with this dress.
I thought the tank top needed something else, so I added the ruffle before giving it to my model.
What are you most proud of?
That she loves to wear it!! It cost me little or nothing to make, as I had all the fabric at home.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go for it! I didn't know what the end result was going to be, but someone really loves long dresses!
