Instructions

I ordered mine off an Etsy store.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual, Romantic, Funky, Cute

Materials

Bonnie and Camille for Moda's Bliss and Ruby lines, a thrifted sheet and flannel.

What was your inspiration?

I love February and Valentine's Day. I had a birthday, so why not make a quilt!

What are you most proud of?

I love this whole quilt. It is deceptively easy. I love how professional it looked. I love the frayed flower edges too.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun with this one. It is not a "perfect" quilt. You get a bit more creative wiggle room on it.

It's a beautiful quilt! I love the look of the big straight edge appliqud roses. Well, really, I love the look of the whole quilt. What size are the blocks (assuming they are blocks), and what size is your quilt? Is the top flannel or did you use flannel as the batting? Inquiring minds and all that.

Thanks for the compliment! The final size is 60x60. I believe the blocks are 8", each one has the flower on it. The top white part is a thrifted cotton sheet and the back is flannel. I used warm and natural batting.

Very striking looking quilt. I just love to see the colors that other people use. I have this pattern and would have chosen pastels until I saw yours, now I've changed my mind. Thanks for sharing and giving all of us inspiration plus permission to think outside the box!

If you google images for French Roses quilt there is a lot of inspiration out there. The lady I bought the pattern from wrote me a note she made one out of men's shirts that looked really nice.

Oh fun! What colors are you using? I have an Aggie family and am thinking of making a maroon and white one.
