Instructions

Have basic quilt piecing skills. Experiment with the decorative stitches available on your sewing machine for a custom look to your card.

Assorted fabric scraps, glue stick, card stock, text weight paper, exacto knife, cutting mat, ruler, 5 x 7 envelope, sewing machine, thread

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make Valentine's Day cards for my friends and family

What are you most proud of?

I love using up scraps and even though this block is small, you can use a lot of different prints

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make several! Sewing the block is fun and the finished card is so pretty!

Hi Cheyenne, I would love to be able to post more projects, more often but I have a good excuse. I am also the Assistant Editor to two magazines, Quilt-it...today and Sew-it...today. Each month I have a magazine to get out that has anywhere from 14-21 quilting and sewing projects. Some of them are mine. So, that leaves me with very little free time to add projects to Craftsy and my own web site. I know this sounds like a commercial, but check out these magazines because our target audience is beginners or confident beginners and there are so many great projects in each issue. I love to hear it when someone is beginning to sew and has fallen in love with quilting, it is such a joyful craft and one to share with others. Keep sewing and trying new things, we all are beginners once and some of my most creative work came from those early quilts I did.
