What was your inspiration?

When I saw the heart block pattern by Jacquie of Tallgrass Prairie Studio at http://tallgrassprairiestudio.blogspot.com/2009/01/my-heart-is-filled-with-joy.html, I knew I had to make this block. But I wanted it smaller, so I adapted the pattern slightly to make it a potholder size. The finished size is 8" with the binding.

I love the potholder! Can you publish picture and sizes of the squares for this project?

The total size is 7.5" (8" with the binding. Each quarter or square of the potholder is 3.75". I think each stripe is .75" finished (so 1.25" with seam allowance).

This is beautiful, thank you for the inspiration and for sharing. I hope to make these to donate to our relay for life team, so they can sell them at the various functions. I appreciate the inspiration. I am a beginner quilter who is picking the needle back up after 5+ yrs of doing nothing. Now I am excited again <3

This is great - I have been making Half Log Cabin Heart potholders and created a pattern to be used by my Quilt Guild members to sell them at our 25th Anniversary Quilt Show in May 25, 26, 27 this year

Thanks for sharing this project. What batting(s) and/or backing do you use when you make potholders?

I just used some Warm & Natural for the batting and and a printed fabric for the backing. You can use anything you want.

I am new to this and am looking for projects to practice free motion quilting. What are the dimensions you used for the potholder?
