I used paper to cut a heart shape, then traced that with tailor's chalk, and wrote "Love" with the chalk as well. Then I did shadow-work embroidery on the heart and stem stitch on the writing, adding little leaves and flowers when the mood struck.Difficulty:

Husband was away fro a few days and I wanted something cute to welcome him home.
What are you most proud of?
I'm pleased how neat it is on the back - my work is usually best kept hidden!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
An embroidery hoop makes shadow-work SO much easier! No puckering, perfect tension, no gaps. Suddenly it's all easy!
